The Fontaine is a full-range monitor of the highest caliber with very respectable low frequency response. The parts used in the Fontaine are the same as those used in our larger designs, but in a simpler, more conventional cabinet. While the midrange driver in the Andra and Rosa are in transmission lines, the Fontaine relies		on a conventional dual-ported, vented enclosure. The ported design allows for spectacular bass response. Stands for Isabel/Fontaine are bolted to speaker and can be filled with sand or lead shot and spiked to the floor. Finished in same gloss black finish as the speaker. Excellent rear channel for the Andra.

*Frequency response is from -3dB @ 55 Hz to well beyond 24,000 Hz. *Efficiency is 87dB. *Impedance is 8 Ohms, nominal. Minimum impedance is 6.3 Ohms. *Tweeter: One 1" cloth dome with a large-diameter vent on its pole piece and a big aperiodic damping chamber which imitates an infinite baffle loading. The tweeter is manufactured on a special production line under laboratory conditions. *Mid-bass, bass: Two 6" polypropylene, double-magnet drivers, each with a 3" voice coil diameter. Extremely rigid structural physics and the piston-like action of these drivers produce exceptionally quick transients and a complete absence of coloration. These drivers are run full-range and placed in a single vented box loading. *Internal wiring is manufactured by Transparent Audio. *Single Cardas rhodium binding posts. *The crossover for the tweeter is hard wired. We utilize Hovland MusiCaps and Vishay resistors. *Damping material or stuffing is Acousta-Stuff, a nylon polymide loose bulk fiber that is tri-lobal (instead of round) and multi-directionally crimped so that the strands interlock to form a very cohesive mass that does not require support and will not settle. *The grills are made of an extremely transparent material which is stretched over a thin steel frame. They attach via magnets which are buried under the surface laminate, allowing the speakers to look as finished with the grills on as with them off. *Black Italian granite is utilized. *The footprint is 9 1/2" X 15 3/4"; the height is 20 1/2". *Net weight, per loudspeaker, is 70 pounds.
