EGGLESTONWORKS HOME ENTERTAINMENT SHOW - NEW YORK, NY - May, 2007 EgglestonWorks once again was in New York City this May for the Stereophile Magazine sponsored Home Entertainment Show. The HE Show is one of the real highlights of our year, and even more so when the location is New York. The picture above is of Grand Central Terminal and the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the venue for HE 2007. The Hyatt is a new venue for the show and proved to be a very nice location for such an ambitious consumer-oriented show. With many attendees coming in from all over the surrounding areas, having the show connected to Grand Central made coming and going a very easy prospect. Possibly because of the ease of getting to the show, attendance was way up this year when compared to past HE shows. Once again, EgglestonWorks chose to combine forces with two leading high-performance audio companies : Rogue Audio and Echobusters. Rogue's Mark O'Brien brought in his killer amplifier, the Zues, as well as his new, reference-level pre-amp, the Hera. Our thanks to Michael Kochmann for supplying the room with not only his excellent acoustic panels, but also his ample expertise in room setup. As the picture below shows, we put together quite an attractive demonstration that sounded even better than it looks. One of the highlights of a show like HE in New York is that you can always count on some memorable moments. This year was no exception as John Marks (Stereophile Contributing Editor) treated show-goers to a short course on some of the best sounding recordings we have heard in quite a while. We would like to thank John for the experience as we and visitors to our room enjoyed his presentation very much.
EGGLESTONWORKS SPEAKERS PRAISED BY MASTERING LEGEND BOB LUDWIG- MAY, 2007 It's no secret that EgglestonWorks speakers are used in some of the best mastering and recording studios throughout the world. The most prolific and respected of these is Bob Ludwig's Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine. So, we were pleasently surprised to find the back cover interview in the current issue of The Absolute Sound to be with Bob featuring a nice photo of the studio with his custom Ivy Reference speakers looming in the background. And though the article was not about equipment plugs or endorsements, we found the last paragraph very flattering as should any of the other manufacturers that help to make up one incredible system at Gateway. Be sure to pick up a copy of the mag now. You can always download it from The Absolute Sound website for $10.00 by following this link:The Absolute Sound
EGGLESTONWORKS FONTAINE II REVIEWED BY POSITIVE FEEDBACK ONLINE- MAY, 2007
WE would like to thank Positive Feedback Mag and reviewer John Acton in particular for our most recent review of the Fontaine II speaker system. At $5500/pair, the Fontaine II represents a real bargain in our line, and apparently John agreed with us. EGGLESTONWORKS CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW - LAS VEGAS, NV - January, 2007
EgglestonWorks was again in Las Vegas this January to participate in the Consumer Electronics Show. A big change this year was the venue for High Performance Audio. For as long as we can remember (not really but a long time), the High End portion of CES was held at the Alexis Park Resort hotel. The Alexis Park is quite a distance from the convention center and CES proper. The CES folks decided to move HPAudio to the Venetian and Sands Expo Center this year and try to consolidate the show a little more. To that end, it seemed to be mission accomplished. The Venetian/Sands is a quick distance to the Convention Center. We heard several complaints from various people about the new location including distance from the ballrooms and the suites, poorly contructed wall in the ballrooms, etc. Most of these complaints seemed to stem from the simple fact that the location was new and different. There is no denying that the rooms at the Alexis Park were not the best for sound, but most exhibitors had managed to deal with the anomolies produced through years of trial and error. As far as we were concerned, the new location was a welcome change for several reasons the biggest of these being increased traffic and the increased professional feel the new venue afforded its exhibitors. EgglesotnWorks made a big splash this year with the debut of its new speaker, THE NINE. At $12,900, the NINE fits nicely into the EW line above the Rosa and well under the Andra II. Our two rooms were well received and were the subject of many show reports by many magazines. See some of the links below to read some of what was said: stereophile ces 2007 blog entry Audio Federation CES 2007 coverage We would like to extend a big thank you to our partners for this show. Room 1 featured: Grand Prix Audio - Alvin Lloyd always the consummate professional brought in his state of the art turntable, new pre-amp, and his ultimate racking system. Steve McCormack - Steve McCormack formerly of McCormack Audio and now SMC is working closely with Alvin on several projects and provided a great deal of knowledge to helping fine-tune the system in the room. Room 2 featured: Rogue Audio - Mark O'Brien of Rogue again agreed to team up with us and debuted his reference level pre-amp at the show. Echo Busters - Michael Kochmann and his Echo Buster panels helped turn a potentially bad room into one of the best sounding at the show (not our words , this praise came from Stereophile's Kalman Rubinson in the May 2007 print edition of Stereophile). The 2007 CES was easily our best show in the history of EW and all of those listed above deserve our sincere thanks for doing their part. ______________________________________________________________________________________ EGGLESTONWORKS ANNOUNCES SOUNDROOM COMPLETION AND NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PLANS
After almost six months of work, the new EW soundroom was finished on June 1st. The EW crew spent a lot of late nights and weekends working on the soundroom and new offices expansion at the factory. The fruits of this labor were finally realized during the grand opening party held June 15th. We were happy to welcome in a nice sized crowd of friends, family and local audio junkies for a reception and tour of the factory. Of course, we treated guests to several demonstrations of 2channel music, multi-channel music and home theater. We used this opportunity to announce that because of the new soundroom and the environment that it creates, we would begin working on several new designs for the EgglestonWorks line. While we were light on details (to keep the anticipation levels high), we revealed that over the next few years several new products would be produced. The first of these new products is set to debut at CES 2007 so stay tuned for further announcements. We are very happy to have this new space. As you can see it is quite a nice place to test new models, prepare for trade shows and just kick back and listen to some music. Come visit us some time and see it for yourself. We'd be glad to show you around.
EGGLESTONWORKS AT FESTIVAL SON ET IMAGE - MONTREAL, CANADA - March, 2006 It is March again and for EW that has come to signal one of our favorite events of the year, the Festival Son et Image in Montreal. A smallish show, Festival is very well attended by enthusiastic audiophiles and those new to the pursuit. We always enjoy visiting Montreal for its international feel, great restaurants and interesting people. Fresh from a great CES in Las Vegas, we decided to keep a good thing going and teamed up again with Rogue Audio and Echo Busters. Despite our speakers being detained in customs and almost missing the entire first day of the show, we finally got setup and had a great show. We look forward to returning to Montreal very soon. EGGLESTONWORKS BEGINS CONTRUCTION ON NEW SOUNDROOM - MEMPHIS, TN - January, 2006 One of the only problems with the EW new factory space was a lack of any type of room that we could use for a testing and demo soundroom. The previous home of EW had a very nice soundroom that we all hated to leave behind. As it turned out, not having a space to use was actually a very good situation to be in because now we were able to design a new space from the ground up. We decided that in order to reduce sound from what can be a very loud factory just outside the sound room that we first had to stop vibrations from the floor. In order to accomplish this we used rubber spacers to "float" the floor over the existing slab thereby breaking the mechanical connection to the building. You will see the rubber spacers in the photograph below. The room is quite large at 35' x 19' requiring over 500 of these spacers. The result is a floor that though not a slab, does not transfer vibrations.
EGGLESTONWORKS CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW - LAS VEGAS, NV - January, 2006
EgglestonWorks again used the annual Consumer Electronics show to demonstrate several of its award-winning products for current and potential dealers and distributors. EW had two rooms this year in Las Vegas first teaming up again with Rogue Audio and Echo Buster in one room and with Crystal Cable in another room. The picture above appeared on Stereophile's website coverage of CES. The Stereophile guys were very impressed with the smallish Fontaine II system we showed, and we appreciate the photo and mention on the site. The combination of EgglestonWorks and Rogue audio is quickly becoming one of our favorites. Especially when showing some of our lower priced speakers and the very reasonably price Rogue gear, we are able to show dealers and customers a complete hi-end package often times completely under $10k. The Crystal Cable room was also a hit with show attendees looking for an example of a very High End system. This room was centered around a pair of Andra II loudspeakers, with Pass Labs, Wadia, and of course top-of-the-line Crystal Cabling. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Rogue Audio, Echo Busters, and Crystal Cable for helping us have another very exciting and productive CES. ______________________________________________________________________________________ EGGLESTONWORKS FONTAINE II REVEIEWED BY WIDESCREEN REVIEW MAGAZINE - May, 2005

EGGLESTONWORKS - STEREOPHILE'S HOME ENTERTAINMENT SHOW- NEW YORK, NY - May, 2005 The annual Stereophile Home Entertainment Show has always been a very exciting event for EgglestonWorks as a quick look down this page will reveal. The HE show has moved in years past from Los Angeles to San Francisco to Chicago, but the best of these (as far as we are concerned) are the shows in New York City. A show in New York is unlike a show in just about any other city in the world. Last year, we partnered with SIM2 Multimedia and had a great show. This year we decided to team up with Rogue Audio and Echo Busters for a realistically priced system consisting of the EW Fontaine II and the new line from Rogue. EGGLESTONWORKS - ROMA HI END - ROME, ITALY - January, 2005
EgglestonWorks was proud to be among the finest in Hi End Audio at The Rome Hi End show this year. Our newest distributor LP Audio, owned by Luca Parlato, put on a very nice demonstration of the Andra II speaker system for visitors to this annual show in Italy's largest city. We look forwrd to doing more of these shows as Luca's business grows in the Italian market. EGGLESTONWORKS - CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW - LAS VEGAS, NV - January, 2005
EgglestonWorks made the annual trek to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Consumer Electronics Show held the first full week in January. Thought CES is a lot of work and means long hours, we look forward to the trip as the highlight of our year. The CES gives us a chance in one location to meet with current dealers, find new dealers, make new friends and of course take in all that Las Vegas has to offer. Our demonstration this year featured something a little unusual at CES: multichannel music with no video. There were several discussion prior to the show about what we would take for demo. There was a concensus that we should show off our newest products the Fontaine II, the Katherine On-Wall, the Point 1 sub and the Andra II. The decision to use them all in a multi-channel music demo seemed fairly logical. The picture above is the front of our room featuring Andra II mains, Katherine On-Wall center channel (on special stand) and the Point 1 subwoofer. Rear channels (not pictured) alternated between the Katherine On-Wall and the Fontaine II. The mixing and matching of many speakers in our line was purposeful to show the seamless match that any of our speakers will make with any other of our speakers. We would like to thank EMM Labs, Pass Labs, and Shunyata for loaning us gear this year. As usual, the combination of great electronics and world-class speakers produced a memorable sound that was voted Best Sound by several writers covering the show. ______________________________________________________________________________________
EGGLESTONWORKS AT CEDIA 2004 - INDIANAPOLIS, IN - September, 2004 Quickly becoming one of the more important trade shows for the high performance audio segment, CEDIA has been attracting throngs of attendees for many years. The undeniable trend toward not just home theater but more toward integrated systems has seen many retailers expanding their lines to include automation controls, lighting and the like. EgglestonWorks has attended CEDIA for the past 6 six years just as an attendee and last year as an exhibitor in an off-site location. The CEDIA show gives us a great opportunity to see what's new as well as meet and greet with industry affilliates as well as some of our dealers. This year we decided to take a small booth space on the main show floor along side Echo Busters. We knew it would be a different show being an exhibitor but we didn't know just how different. CEDIA was a complete departure from our usual set-up at a show. Being on an actual show floor without a live demonstration took some time to get used to. The environment did allow us to talk to more people than usual. We will likely be back in years to come as the importance of this show continues to grow. EGGLESTONWORKS HOME ENTERTAINMENT - NEW YORK - 2004 SHOW REPORT- May, 2004 EgglestonWorks announced plans for their demo room at the Stereophile Home Entertainment Show to be held in New York City this May. In conjunction with SIM2 Multimedia - makers of some of the finest video products currently on the market - EW will be providing the audio portion of what will be one of the more exciting home theater demostrations at New York this year. EgglestonWorks will be showcasing the Fontaine II loudspeaker that was introduced at CES this January along with the Katherine On-wall speaker system and the Point 1 Subwoofer. UPDATE Just back from New York and we would like to say a sincere thank you to all of you that came by the room to see and hear our display with SIM2. HE is always a great show and this year was no different as a great crowd of people filled the New York Hilton in order to get a glimpse of all the latest and greatest gear. The EgglestonWorks room stayed packed with a steady stream of visitors who all made comments that it was the perfect mix of high end audio brought to the home theater world. We would like to extend a big thank you to the guys at SIM2 and congratulations on a great show.
EGGLESTONWORKS CES 2004 SHOW REPORT- January, 2004 Las Vegas - EgglestonWorks just returned from a very suceessful show at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year EW decided to showcase a 5-channel system demonstrating the finest multi-channel system at the show. We teamed up with Theta Digital using their excellent products for digital front end, multi-channel processing and amplification. Many comments on the room were focused on attendee's pleasure in seeing and hearing a strictly audio multi-channel demo in a show crowded with home theater centered displays. EgglestonWorks enjoys a long history of embracing the multi-channel format through its associations with some of the major mastering studios currently leading the charge in M-CH format discs. Some of the favorite discs that were used for demo included tracks from Nickel Creek, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Norah Jones, LAGQ and many others. We look forward to CES every year and 2004 did not disappoint. We especially enjoyed making new friends in Steve and David Eleftheriadis from Australia and hope to be able to visit them down under soon. ______________________________________________________________________________________ EGGLESTONWORKS CEDIA 2003 SHOW REPORT- September, 2003 EgglestonWorks again showed at CEDIA show in Indianapolis this year.
CEDIA is quickly becoming one of the more important shows as high-end audio and home theater continue to converge. We decided not to show on the convention show floor this year, instead opting for a large meeting room in the Westin across the street from the main center. This allowed us to control our enviroment a little better, and also gave us a much larger space in which to demonstrate an EgglestonWorks home theater featuring the brand new Katherine On-Wall speaker. The Katherine On-wall (which can also be mounted in-wall) was a big hit at the show and had many custom install companies coming by to take a look and listen to the new speaker. One demonstration had the Katherine as rear channels in a home theater, and another system consistented of a pair of Katherines in stereo flanking a 50" Plasma screen.
After 7 years of steady growth, EgglestonWorks has seen such an increase in demand for its products that it can no longer meet those demands in its current facility. A lengthy search to find the perfect new location for the EW factory yielded in a new space that we are proud to announce. Moving is never a fun prospect, especially when you are moving 8,000 square feet of factory equipment and inventory. Though the new building is only 10 minutes from the old one, we quickly realized that moving - no matter the distance - is the same amount of work. After returning home from Montreal, there was little time to relax. We immediately began the task of packing and organinizing and -thankfully- throwing a lot of items away. It was actually a good process to go through in the area of eliminating a lot of unneccessary junk that we had accumulated over the years. Most of March and April and May was spent moving while we attempted not to disrupt our production too much. The new building is just over 12,000 square feet in size and will allow a more logical production flow. We are leaving behind our very nice soundroom, but with any luck we will build a new one soon that will be even better. (More on that later.) EGGLESTONWORKS’ FESTIVAL SONET IMAGE SHOW
REPORT - March, 2003 A special treat was the just-released multi-channel remaster of Pink
Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” The SACD sounded
wonderful, having just come off the new Crest National hybrid disk
line. EW presented their most ambitious CES in the history of the company. Three truly unique presentations highlighted the remarkable versatility of the entire EW reference Speaker line. EW & Halcro present high definition two channel music at T.H.E. SHOW
Above ^ "The EW and Halcro room at CES 2003 featuring two separate 2-channel systems of Savoy's and Rosa's." EW proudly accepted Halcro’s invitation to partner at the San Remo Hotel. The reference-level 2-channel system modeled after several leading recording/mastering studios matched a pair of EW Savoy Reference Speakers with two Halcro dm58 Super-Fidelity power amplifiers. Featured in the room was the Halcro dm10 preamp and a Phillips 1000 SACD player customized by Ed Meitner. Also in the room was a pair of EW Rosa speakers powered by the not yet released Halcro dm38 stereo amplifier. Several people commented that the Rosas sounded better than the $200,000 multi-channel system (different speaker manufacturer) across the hall. This presentation of Halcro Super-Fidelity amplifiers and EW speakers recreated the breathtaking combination that prompted both of the glowing reviews in the October and November issues of Stereophile. Attendees were able to experience first hand purity in music unlike any they have experienced before. Press Conference ![]() Above ^ "Yin Tang of Groove Note Records talks about engineering in multi-channel for SACD" Yin Tang of Groove note records shared his experiences with SACD. While the record industry as a whole reported lower numbers last year, his company Groove Note, had a 20% increase in sales. The evening ended with a room full of people enjoying the EW Savoy setup listening to Groove Note SACDs. EW and
